Big projects: East Gate Shopping mall
East Gate Shopping mall is considered the new urban center of the city of Skopje. As one of the largest shopping and entertainment venues in the area, East Gate mall is the top shopping choice for anyone visiting the city.
With 5 floors, 220 brands, 2000 parking lots and 57.000 m2 of gross leasable area, it is an imposing building in the heart of the city.

The state-of-the-art design by the internationally renowned architectural firm Yazgan Design Architectural Studio creates an extremely multidimensional aesthetic narrative. Each place has its own special character thus creating an exciting journey full of new experiences for the visitor.

It has endless options for food and coffee for relaxing moments. In addition to a gym, you will even find a tennis court on site!
It is our special honor and pleasure that STYROPAN XPS extruded polystyrene boards were used for the thermal insulation needs of the East Gate Mall facilities.
More specifically, 2700 cubic metres of extruded polystyrene STYROPAN XPS WS (Without Skin) thermal insulation boards were applied to the roofs of the East Gate building. There was no need for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS-façade) as almost all the side surfaces of the building do not consist of wall (they are mainly from glass and other materials).
Our partner Ciklama Engineering (whom we thank very much for providing the images from the various phases of the installation of STYROPAN XPS insulators) implemented the application by choosing extruded STYROPAN XPS which has high load resistance due to the passability of the roof and low water absorption which are our main priorities in the insulation of ceilings / floors.
Styropan XPS WS boards of rigid extruded polystyrene foam is an insulating material used for thermal insulation of concrete elements within the formwork (beams, columns, lintels, basement walls). Final surface of the board: Extrusion skin is shaved and linear grooves pattern is received to enhance adhesion with concrete. The XPS WS boards are fitted inside the formwork before pouring the concrete. The dimensions of the boards are 2500 mm x 600mm. Thicknesses vary from 30 mm to 100 mm.
Thermal insulation boards STYROPAN XPS WS are CE certified in accordance with the EN 13164 standard.
As far as reaction to fire is concerned, they are arranged in E category according to EN 13501-1.
